Journey into the Future of Storytelling: Social Cognitive Experience and Immersive 3D Modelling

In the rapidly evolving digital landscape, storytelling is undergoing a transformation. This change is being propelled by the convergence of social, cognitive, and experiential aspects of communication, a concept I refer to as the Social Cognitive Experience (SCE).

At the heart of SCE, and the future of storytelling, lies the power of 3D modelling and immersive technologies.

In the early stages of my journey, I sought to master the art of 3D modelling, a vital tool for creating captivating, immersive animations. Professional software like Blender, Adobe Effects, and Motion offer an impressive array of capabilities, but their complexity can prove daunting.

Mastering these tools involves a steep learning curve, where even the assistance of YouTube tutorials and an abundance of patience might seem insufficient.

This is where Reality Composer stands out as a beacon of hope. Despite being an equally powerful tool, its simplicity and intuitive nature make it an excellent entry point for beginners. However, the creative process in Reality Composer, like its more complex counterparts, is laborious and requires the manual creation of each element of the experience, from the interactions and movements to the sounds.

This is where the promising potential of AI comes into play. AI integration in 3D modelling tools, including Reality Composer, enables users to command actions verbally, transforming the creative process dramatically. Imagine a future where creating a 3D model is as simple as voicing a command, where the virtual canvas responds and creates as you speak and move.

The application of generative AI technologies like ChatGPT, Stable Diffusion, and Midjourney take this concept even further. These AI technologies can generate cohesive images that seamlessly integrate, much like the capabilities demonstrated by Google's AI.

This real-time generation is the future of immersive experiences, as evidenced by formats like USDZ and .Reality files. In these formats, your physical environment influences virtual objects, their reflections, placements, and behaviours. As you move, the virtual world adapts, and as other people enter your view, the experience responds to real-world activity.

This immersive future presents brands with the opportunity to create dynamic spaces where people can meet, learn, share knowledge, and cultivate creativity. It's about building communities that inhabit these virtual spaces. Integral to this future is spatial audio, adding an extra layer of realism to the immersive experience.

SCE's role is to assist brands in laying the foundations for such immersive experiences. This includes creating sonic profiles, ensuring brand usage protection, maintaining message consistency and design scalability across platforms, and identifying experiences that would make the most sense for their audience.

The exploration of 3D modelling and immersive experiences is just beginning, and the journey is as exciting as it is challenging. As we continue to navigate the exciting confluence of social, cognitive, and experiential elements in digital storytelling, the future promises to be more immersive, engaging, and responsive than ever before.
